Equiptment list

This picture abpve shows all the filming equiptemnt we used to film our project with, we used:

• DJI phantom 3 standard
• Canon 700d 
• 15-55mm lense
• 55-250mm lense
• Gorilla tripod 
• glide cam

Filming day 2

On the second day we went to outherdown to film the relationship between Alex and Jade in our video, we gathered a range of different shots showing the relationship and the bond that the two characters have. After filming we realised that after filming so much that we only needed Jade for another scene which we can hopefully get filmed in 1 day.

Filming day 1

On the first day filming we went to the the locations and collected some drone shots to include in our music video as it was perfect conditions to fly and we didn't have all of our cast due to other commitments, after getting some drone shots of the sea and a beach we discussed that the next thing to do was organise a time when everyone was available and start filming the narrative.

This is our final draft of out music video, the main changes we made was from audience feedback, weve made it more detailed which was a suggestion by our teacher as it would hep us with the production as it would be clearer to understand.

Shooting schedule

location scouting

The 3 outdoors loacations we've chosen to film at are Porthcawl, Ogmore by sea and Southerdown. All of these locations are accesible by a 20-30 minute car ride. 

Porthcawl

Porthcawl is a very familiar location to us as its a popluar seaside town with a variety of activites and shops located close to the front. We have decided to use this location to film some scenes in the evening as it would be good to show the relationship in this way. In porthcawl we can film with the drone if the wind isnt to strong, we can also film insdie the funfair thats located close to the beach which would also be a good way to represent the relationship. The pier is also accesible to film on and would be good to have drone shots of the light house there but when we got there the winds where to high to fly it. 

Ogmore by sea

Ogmore by sea is also a very popular beach thats close to porthcawl, it is also one of the easiest beaches to get to regarding parking. It can become popular in the summer but due to it being winter it can be vacant which is good for us when we are filming as people in the background have the potetntial to mess us the continuity. The only negative aspect of this location is that it can become very windy due to it being on the sea front so drone shots would be very difficult to film in this location.

Southerdown

When we went ot southerdown the whole group agreed that we were definetley going to use this location and get the majoirty of our shots there. There were a good variety of heights due to the cliffs and alos being able to go onto the beach and stay close to the sea. We visited southerdown in poor conditions but after discussing the thought of our music video we came to the conclusion that they were actually good conditions for filming as it reflected the mood. Only bad part is that we wouldnt of been able to film with the drone in those conditions.This was also a vacant area and wouldnt have to worry about people in the background getting in the way or mesing up the continuity. 

Props and costumes

the list below consists of the props that we intend to use in our our music video. We don't really need a lot of props in our video, but we may add some as the filming goes on.

• Car - 3 of our members in our group can drive which means we have a good advantage. We will mainly be using the cars to get to location but we also need shot of them in a car together to match the lyrics and plus to show how they got there. 

• Mobile Phone - We will be using Jades and Alex's phone in our video, they will use these to text and call each other. we used this as well as it a very popular and common day item that is used frequently in relationships to keep in contact so this gives a sense of realism

• We also used a punch bag for one of the scenes with Alex to show him getting his anger out
• Clothing & Accessories - Jade and Alex will have their own personal props which will be part of what they wear for the music video. we let them wear what they want so they feel comfortable and seem like normal people to the audience

Cast list

In or video we have chosen to use 2 characters a male and a female. the narrative will be about the relationship between the two and mainly focus from his point of view.We've had to make a couple of changes to our cast due to other commitments                                   

The male character was originally going to be played by Casey Deeks but due to other commitments clashing with filming times we decided that he couldn't be in it. As a group we decided that the male portagonist would be played by Alex Newbold, Alex is also a member of our group so its alot easier for his availability for when we need to film.

The girl in our video was originally gonna be played by Rosie Pope but as she attends a different school it would of been very difficult to organise the times and days for filming. It was quite hard to get a female for filming who as highly available so it wouldn't of been to much of a problem. We finally decided that Jade Evans a pupil from the same school and also studies media but is a year below would of been a suitable fit for the role would be featured as the female in the film. Jades also had a lot of previous acting experiences so this was another bonus for us.




We were originally going to use Casey Deeks and Rosie Pope in our video as they were already in a relationship but due to some confusions and other commitments in free time to film we selected Jade and Alex

Song decision

For our music video we have decided to use the song ' I hate you, I love you'

Our initial ideas for the narative for the music video was that there would be a relationship, where at the start of the video the relationship would be going good, and halfway through there would be a breakup and the boy would feel worse about the break up and have some mental issues due to the break up. We also wanted to include lyrics in out video, we've taken inspitration from the chainsmokers 'closer' video and have decided that we wanted to try and do that style with the lyrics coming ascross the screen.

A list of songs that I would like to use for my music video

In our group we came up with 2 different songs each that we would like to use to see if we had any songs which were the same style or completeley different. In our group Josh chose the songs - Wisemen by James Blunt, and found what i've been looking for by tom grennan. Oliver chose the songs- When it all goes wrong by Chasing Status, and I fall apart by Post malone. Alex chose Pick me up by Clean cut kid, and Ignorance by Paramore. For my two songs I chose 1-800-273-8255 by Logic, and Beautiful life by Lost frequencies. I chose these becasue they are quite new songs and very poplar, we decided not to do these songs though becuase the song 1-800-273-8255 had a really good music video and thought that our film wouldnt meet the high standard that it had already set. And we didnt do Beautiful life becuase it wasnt the correct genre of music for the video we wanted to film and wouldnt of fit. In the end we decided on the song 'I hate you, I love you'.
